Our Mission
Guatemala Vida y Luz foundation is a nonprofit 501 ( c) (3) organization dedicated to bringing love, hope, light and life to vulnerable communities wordwide through programs in health, education, nutrition, spiritual growth and essential projects, fostering personal and community empowerment.
Silvia Orantes is a woman of faith, transformational leader, and voice of hope from Guatemala. She has dedicated her life to serving vulnerable communities through faith, compassion, and empowerment.
As a Transformational Life Coach, NLP Practitioner, and specialist in early childhood development, Silvia inspires emotional healing, purpose, and personal growth. Recognized as Mrs. Guatemala International 2022–2024, she represents resilience, integrity, and a legacy of service that continues to transform lives across generations.
Jasmine Orantes-Orellana earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and brings experience in nonprofit development, community outreach, and event coordination. Inspired by a heart for service shared alongside her mother, Silvia Orantes, Jasmine is committed to helping the foundation grow and expand its impact within the community.
Laura Ivonne Calao Bustillos is the Vice President of Guatemala Binational Vida y Luz Foundation. Originally from Tabasco, Mexico, she holds a degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and has experience in public relations and academic coordination. Laura is passionate about serving others and helping bring hope, love, and support to the community.
Dana Fischel has a serving heart. She’s passionate about environmental sustainability. Always ready to help others reach their potential. Dana holds a Master’s in Business and Economic Analysis. She’s also a CPA and Notary Public.
Angel Romero serves as the Executive Director of International Project Development, leading initiatives focused on community impact, humanitarian outreach, and global collaboration. Angel is passionate about creating opportunities that strengthen communities, inspire service, and bring meaningful support to those in need.
Maria Suarez Stenson studied Marketing at Tecnológico de Monterrey and has experience in marketing, finance, education, and nonprofit community work. Passionate about faith and service, she is dedicated to helping vulnerable communities through outreach and compassion with Guatemala Vida y Luz.
Krissten Gomez is an entrepreneur, Reverend, and Executive Director of Public Relations dedicated to empowering communities through leadership, faith, and service. Krisstien is passionate about building strong relationships, inspiring positive change, and using her voice and vision to support the foundation’s mission and outreach efforts.

Dallas Public Relations Director
Evelyn Higueros is the Dallas Public Relations Director for Guatemala Vida y Luz Foundation. A healthcare professional and humanitarian advocate, she is passionate about community outreach, wellness, and serving underserved communities through leadership and philanthropy.

Dallas Public Relations Assistant
Charo Valladares is originally from Honduras and has lived in Dallas, Texas for over 20 years. She is an Executive Bilingual Secretary with a background in social services, specializing in working with youth. Charo also holds a Medical Esthetician License and is passionate about serving and supporting her community through both professional and personal outreach.

Events & Fundraising Director
Velia Romero is the Events & Fundraising Director with a strong background in event coordination and community engagement. She is passionate about planning impactful events, building meaningful connections, and leading fundraising efforts that support the foundation’s mission and outreach programs.

Project Budget Management
Leticia Dominguez serves as the Project Budget Management & Image Editor, supporting the foundation through financial organization, creative design, and visual storytelling. She is passionate about helping projects run efficiently while using her creativity to highlight the foundation’s mission and community impact.

Graphic Design & Social Media Manager
Daniel Darío Villa Calao is the Social Media Manager for the foundation. Originally from Tabasco, Mexico, he is studying Design and Digital Communication Engineering at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and is passionate about graphic design, photography, and video production to help share the foundation’s mission.

Stanford CT Public Relations Director
Sulma Solís is a professional nanny with 20 years of experience caring for children with love and dedication. She is honored to support the foundation’s mission and believes in sharing God’s blessings by serving and helping others.

Mexico Public Relations Director
María Josefina Romero Araujo is a retired educator with over 30 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership in Zacatecas, Mexico. She is passionate about community service, personal growth, and helping others through education and wellness.

Operations Director
Cindy Marisol Orellana Cisneros is an attorney and notary from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala with experience in public law, legal advising, and higher education. She has served as a legal advisor for government institutions, including the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.

Operations Assistant
Karen Cordero serves as the Operations Assistant, supporting the foundation’s daily operations and organizational efforts. With a background working in legal firms in Guatemala, she brings strong administrative and coordination skills to help programs run efficiently and support the foundation’s mission.
